Rosie*
Leukaemia is the most common childhood cancer - but you still don't think it will ever happen to your own child.
Rosie* was 4 years old when she was diagnosed. At first we didn't suspect anything. She was tired, wouldn't eat, said she was in pain, but we thought it was just a fever, a two-day kind of thing that kids get all the time.
How wrong we were. But we had to move very quickly from the shock of the news to right, what are the options? In the end, Rosie had a combination of chemotherapy and a cord blood stem cell transplant.
We're four years on now, and everything looks very positive - as it does for most childhood leukaemia cases if they're caught early and treated.
But we'll never forget the horror of those early days. And we'll always be grateful to the people who donated their stem cells.
